I’ve worn the Adidas Gazelle shoes and compared their sizing to other popular shoes and my conclusion is this: Adidas Gazelle sizing runs true to size, but they have the same snug fit that is common with many types of Adidas casual, street-style shoes. I ordered my normal sizing and they fit fine, but if you prefer a looser fit, you may need to size up a half size.

It’s important to understand that the Adidas Gazelle shoe was introduced back in the 1960’s as a performance training shoe that could be used for training in several different sports, and could function as a simple athletic shoe for jogging and walking. It has since become a very popular street-style casual shoe, but because it is rooted in performance, it has a snug, dependable design.
When I started to compare Adidas Gazelle sizing to other major brands, I found that these shoes are sized very consistent when compared to other classic performance and street-style shoes. For example, here are my size 12 Adidas Gazelle Shoes compared to my size 12 Vans Slip-On Shoes:
As you can see, those shoes have a very similar sizing. If you look closely, the Adidas Gazelle fit just a tiny bit looser, but it is very close. I consider both to run true to size, but have a snug design for performance purposes.
But there are also popular shoes on the market today that fit bigger than the Adidas Gazelle shoes. For example, here are my size 12 Adidas Gazelle shoes compared to my size 12 Converse Chucks:
The Converse Chucks run a half size bigger than the Adidas Gazelle shoes. It’s important to note that Converse Chucks sizing is known for running about a half size big, but I think it’s a good illustration that there are popular shoes on the market that fit bigger than these Adidas Gazelle shoes.
In this article I want to discuss Adidas Gazelle fit and sizing in more detail and directly compare the sizing of these shoes to the sizing of other popular shoes. I will compare these Adidas Gazelle shoes to other Adidas shoes, as well as Nike shoes, Converse shoes, Vans shoes, and New Balance shoes.
Adidas Gazelle Sizing
Do Adidas Gazelle Fit Big or Small?
In my experience, these Adidas Gazelle shoes fit true to size, but because they were originally designed as performance shoes, they have a snug, dependable design. I personally ordered my normal sizing and they fit true to size, but don’t expect a loose fit. If you prefer a looser fit, sizing up may be best.
Are Adidas Gazelle Shoes Available in Wide Sizing?
This is where you can view the shoes that Adidas currently offers in wide sizing. At the time I am creating this Adidas Gazelle size guide, the Adidas Gazelle is not offered in wide sizing.
In my experience, these shoes do have a snug design. If you have wide feet, sizing up a half size to create a little extra breathing room inside the shoe may be best.

Adidas Gazelle vs Vans Slip On Sizing
These Adidas Gazelle shoes fit very similar to the classic Vans Slip On Shoes. Both have a snug, narrow design that is common in skate, street-style casual shoes. If you made me choose, I’d say the Adidas Gazelle shoes fit just a tiny bit longer. Here are mine, both size 12:

Adidas Gazelle vs Vans UltraRange Sizing
I have found the Vans UltraRange shoes to fit a bit looser than the sizing of other Vans shoes. The Adidas Gazelle shoes have a similar length when compared to the Vans UltraRange shoes, but I feel like the Adidas Gazelles have a more narrow fit. Here are mine, both size 12:

I feel like the sizing for Nike Blazer shoes is identical to the sizing for Adidas Gazelle shoes in both length and width. Here are mine, both size 12:
Adidas Gazelle Sizing vs Nike Air Max
Nike Air Max shoes are more difficult to compare with a picture due to the fact that the heal pushes the shoe away from the door, and due to the large amount of cushioning around the collar. I did my best to align the back collar of these two shoes.
I feel like the Nike Air Max shoes run slightly bigger than these Adidas Gazelle shoes:
