Steel Toe Crocs Information

Does Crocs Make Steel Toe Shoes?

As we discussed at the top of the article, unfortunately Crocs does not currently make steel toe clogs. But if you are interested in Crocs work shoes, there are some options, but they are not steel safety toe shoes.

What Type of Crocs Work Shoes Exist?

Crocs work clogs are popular for health care workers and certain food-service industries, but they also make sense for certain workers who spend long days on their feet and prefer a lightweight, comfortable shoe that is easy to wear. Just make sure these shoes meet the specific safety requirements needed for your job.

Most Crocs work shoes have a closed toe, which makes them a bit different than classic Crocs that have holes throughout the shoe. Here’s a look at the top of my Crocs Bistro Clog:

  • Crocs Bistro Clog – The Crocs Bistro is designed a bit different than the Crocs Classic. As you can see above, it has a different style on the top of the shoe. It has a closed top, with a closed toe (but it is not a steel toe safety shoe). Crocs describes the Bistro as their “most generous, roomy fit”. Good for wide feet. • Crocs ‘On the Clock’ Shoe – This shoe is also designed different than the classic Crocs. Not only does this shoe have a fully enclosed toe, but it also has an enclosed heel. This is a nice option for health care workers and food service workers (these are not steel toe Crocs). These Crocs do not have as much room as the classic crocs. These are built for more of a secure fit. Click here to view the current price of these Crocs at Crocs.com (paid affiliate link takes you to Crocs.com).

Certain types of Crocs work shoes will have an adjustable heel strap for a more secure fit. To read more, visit my article about Crocs that come with adjustable straps.

Caterpillar Men’s Woodward Steel Toe Athletic Shoe

I wanted to include these shoes as an alternative to steel toe Crocs even though these shoes have laces. I recently tried 10 different steel toe work shoes, and these Caterpillar Woodward shoes weighed the least. These will be a very nice option for those of you searching for lightweight steel toe shoes.

My size 12 men’s shoe weighed just 1.09 pounds per shoe. To put this into perspective, I also recently tried 14 different composite toe shoes, and the average weight for those 14 composite toe shoes was 1.25 pounds per shoe, so these Caterpillar Woodward shoes come in significantly lighter than the average composite toe shoe despite being steel toe shoes.

In fact, if I were to rank the weight of this Caterpillar Woodward steel-toe shoe with the weights of the 14 lightweight composite toe shoes I tried, this shoe would have ranked 6th most lightweight of the entire group. I’m saying all of this to say that these Caterpillar Woodward shoes would even be considered reasonably lightweight if they were compared to composite toe shoes.

To find a steel toe shoe that is this lightweight is really uncommon, and if you prioritize lightweight comfort, these will be a nice substitute for steel toe Crocs. These Caterpillar Woodward shoes feel like lightweight athletic shoes when I wear them (do they make Nike steel toe shoes?).
