- The Knox – I also own the Knox boot and like to use it for work on concrete because it has a wedge outsole. It uses a premium Vibram 4014 Cristy sole, which is the most popular type of wedge sole. It also uses water-resistant leather in combination with weatherproof seams which allows me to use it in wet weather (it can be hosed down to clean). However, if you are looking for a more rugged boot, the Tecovas Midland Boot is built more for heavy-duty work than this Jake boot is. Despite having a dress boot look, this Jake boot is made with water-resistant uppers and has a unique rubber outsole that I like because it blends in seemlessly with the stacked leather heel.

This is another one of my favorite Tecovas work boots. This is the boot I like to use on concrete because it uses a wedge outsole. I think the wedge outstole does a better job at absorbing shock and evenly distributing stress across the bottom of the foot instead of localizing it on the heel and toe pad.

The Midland is the most popular type of Tecovas work boots. I personally use the Jake and the Knox boots because I prefer a more classic, dress boot style, but the Midland boots are more rugged than the boots I use. If you are doing heavy duty work, this is your best option.

My advice is to stick with the Midland Tecovas work boots if you need something for rugged work. The Bandera and The Stockton also feature very durable Vibram outsoles that can handle tougher work environments. I like to use the Jake, but the Jake and the Jason are built more for light-duty farm work. I like the Knox for work on concrete.
