This is my New Balance 997H review. These shoes are retro athletic shoes that present day are worn mainly as casual athletic shoes. These shoes have a nice blend of support and flexibility, making them easy to wear and comfortable for various activities.

New Balance 997H Shoes Review
Supportive and Flexible
These shoes provide nice support and stability under the heel, which is important for everyday comfort. Despite the stability, the 997H sneakers remain very flexible near the toe pad, allowing for easy movement.
At the top of the page you can watch my review video where I demonstrate how flexible these shoes are. The thick midsole is a defining feature of the 997H, helping to absorb impact with every step.
Mesh and Suede Upper
The upper is made from lightweight yet durable materials. These elements give the shoes an eye-catching mix of textures while maintaining the strength needed for daily wear. Specifically, the upper combines mesh paneling with a suede overlay.
The mesh panels allow heat and moisture to escape, keeping your feet comfortable during long days. The suede adds durability and a soft texture to the design.
The soles are crafted from a combination of IMEVA foam and rubber, offering reliable support and durability without adding unnecessary weight.
Soft Insoles and Padded Collar
In my experience, the insoles are very soft and provide a plush-like feel with every step. Additionally, the collar of these shoes has comfortable padding that enhances ankle support.
Heritage-Inspired Design
The New Balance 997H sneakers build on the tradition of the classic 997 style from the ’90s. This modern take incorporates a progressive spin on the retro look.
New Balance branding on the heel collar, tongue, saddle, and outsole ties the design together, creating a cohesive, bold style.
My Sizing Advice
I ordered my normal sizing and I do not have any heel slippage and my toes do not feel crowded so normal sizing worked best for me.
