This is my Keen Voyageur low review. These boots have a rugged, yet flexible design and feature mesh paneling for enhanced foot breathability. The tongue is gusseted to hold out small debris. The outsole features multi-directional lugs with a lug depth of 4mm. Very comfortable to wear, I ordered my normal sizing and they fit true to size.

Keen Voyager Low Review

Support and Flexibility

The Keen Voyager Low Hiking Boots are very supportive near the heel of the shoe but offer a lot of flexibility near the front of the shoe. If you watch my review video at the top of the page I demonstrate how flexible these shoes are.

This design makes them easy to move around in while still providing stability and support for the heel side. The contoured heel lock enhances the secure fit, improving overall support during hikes.

Sizing and Comfort

These shoes are very breathable and feature mesh paneling that allows air to flow through the shoe. Thick, comfortable padding around the collar and tongue provides cushioning against the ankle when laced tightly. This padding adds noticeable comfort during long periods of wear.

The Original Fit design provides generous space across the forefoot, allowing toes to splay naturally. Breathable mesh lining also contributes to a comfortable experience, even on warmer days.

In my video review at the top of the page I tried to show how these boots react on my foot. I ordered my normal sizing and found that I do not have any heel slippage, and my toes do not feel crowded. Normal sizing worked best for me.

Protection

Yes, these are soft-toe boots, but they do have a rubber toe bumper that helps protect the front of the shoe. This feature is especially useful for hikes on rugged terrain.

They also have a gusseted tongue, which I tried to show in my video review at the top of the page, helps prevent debris like rocks from slipping down inside the shoe. It also prevents the tongue from sliding to the left or right while hiking.

Outsole

The outsole of these boots has multi-directional lugs for better traction. The lug depth is 4mm, offering reliable grip on various surfaces.

The KEEN.ALL-TERRAIN rubber outsole provides higher-traction grip, while an external stability shank delivers lightweight stability to enhance performance on challenging trails.

Materials

The leather and performance mesh upper combine durability with breathability. The leather is sourced from an environmentally preferred, LWG-certified tannery, which ensures cleaner water during production.

The PFAS-free, durable water repellent repels water just as effectively as traditional treatments, without harming the planet.

Low Profile

This review is for the Keen Voyager Low Boots. This low-top design offers more ankle mobility and a lightweight feel, which is ideal for shorter hikes or less rugged terrain.

For those who prefer additional ankle support, Keen also offers a mid-top version of these boots. While the low-top version prioritizes flexibility and ease of movement, the mid-top design provides added stability and protection for more challenging trails.
