This is my Keen Lansing review. These boots have a hiker design so, despite being steel toe boots, they are still very flexible and very easy to wear. My version is the mid-height version that also has a waterproof membrane. I ordered my normal sizing and they fit true to size.
These are Keen’s most popular steel toe boots:

Keen Lansing Work Boots Review
Comfortable Hiker
These are the Keen Men’s Lansing Work Boots. First thing I think you should know is despite being steel toe boots, because they have a sort of hiker design, they are still very flexible and easy to wear.
In my video review at the top of the page I tried to show how these boots react on my foot. A very comfortable design that does not feel stiff and clumsy.
There is thick, comfortable padding around the collar and tongue area, and I can feel that cushioning against my ankle when I lace these tight.
These shoes are very breathable and have this mesh paneling which allows air to flow through the shoe. Yes, these are steel toe boots, but they also have the rubber toe bumper, which helps protect the front of the shoe.
My Sizing Advice
I ordered my normal sizing, and I do not have any heel slippage, and my toes do not feel crowded, so normal sizing worked best for me. They have an upper speed hook which makes it easier to slip these on and off.
Waterproof Membrane
I own the waterproof version of these boots, meaning they do have an internal waterproof membrane. If you are unfamiliar with how these waterproof membranes work, they are sewn onto the inside of the boot and act as a barrier.
These membranes have tiny microscopic holes that are so small they hold out water, but vapor can still escape. This allows your foot to breathe while staying protected from water.
Gusseted Tongue
The tongue is gusseted. I show this in the review video at the top of the page. This is done so the waterproof membrane can be wrapped along the tongue.
This gusseted tongue not only helps hold out water, it also holds out small debris like rocks from slipping down inside your work boot.
Slip-Resistant Outsole
This is a slip-resistant outsole built with multi-directional lugs for better traction. They do have heel side reinforcement – some companies refer to this as a kick plate because it can help protect the back of the boot if you like to kick your boots off.
